4 Ways to Reduce Your Risk of Cavities

We have always heard about cavities being bad and as a society we have belittled humans that get lots of cavities. The scarlet letter of the dental world is cavities and humans have always been branded bad people if they obtain a cavity. This mindset is far from the truth as sometimes cavities just happen…even to people who brush and floss religiously.  Here are some ways to reduce your risk of getting cavities.

  • Brush your teeth twice a day for two minutes to remove sugars and food particles from your teeth.
  • Limit between-meal snacking.
  • Keep added sugar in your diet to a minimum by making wise food and beverage choices.
  • Include dairy, plenty of fruits and vegetables, and water in your diet—they all play a role in your dental health.
